A Special Type Of Person
It takes a special type of person to volunteer to go to sea in the worst conditions and weather to assist mariners in trouble. On a wild, windy and cold evening in early April with sleet coming down, an air temperature of just 4 degrees, a force 8-9 gale blowing and a rough sea the crew of the Scarborough lifeboats were out training, the crew of the inshore lifeboat even jumping into the sea to be "rescued" by their colleagues. I'd love to be a lifeboatman if I worked closer to the sea and really admire their courage and bravery.
